How the clock judges your territory
Doomsday adds a second land-share test after a 10-minute grace period on every speed preset. It removes stalled sides, while FFA Overtime is a separate rule that can lower the ordinary 80% victory target after minute 30 so a leading player can finish a long match; public FFA may enable Overtime by default.
The FFA thresholds rise through 2%, 4%, 7%, 11%, 17%, 25%, and 35%. Team thresholds are 3%, 6%, 10%, 15%, 21%, 28%, and 35%, measured against the team’s combined territory rather than multiplied by squad size.
A side below the active threshold receives a warning described as about 30 seconds, followed by troop and warship drain. The army drain bottoms out around 5% of maximum, doomed warships keep patrolling, and territory then rots toward zero until recovery or elimination. You can still fight, trade, and launch nuclear strikes while doomed, but you must restore the required land share.
Surviving the next threshold
- What should I accomplish during the grace period?
- Use the opening to spawn on plains with a coast, hold the 42% troop curve, annex Bots, and build a City followed by a Port. Complete a connected core before the first wave; an isolated island or protected mountain pocket can still leave you short of the required land share.
- How should a team divide the work?
- Spawn on the flashing teammate ring and watch the combined team share. One player can hold the active front while a backliner farms cheap land, with someone taking tiles during a warning while another player contains the enemy.
- Should I keep investing in ships when land is scarce?
- If your water position or pocket cannot recover the required share, stop adding Ports and warships and retreat to the smallest coherent land area you can defend. A transport that immediately captures a tile helps more than a busy-looking Warship because the clock counts land, not hulls.
- How do I expand safely during a warning?
- Do not empty your army to paint tiles when a human opponent already borders you, because the drain combined with a real attack can wipe you. Lower the attack slider, expand in one inexpensive direction, and ask an ally for troops in a team lobby. In FFA, a five-minute pact can buy time to take land, while betraying during your own warning puts the recovery at risk.
